Aquis Search announces the appointment of James Hickman as Managing Director responsible for the development of the Legal, Risk and Compliance markets for the firm.
In his new role James is spearheading the firm's innovative approach to client development and candidate management. He will be particularly focused on growing the Risk and Compliance platforms across the Asia Pacific.
James has more than ten years of Human Resources experience in Asia and has worked with the region's largest recruitment firms. Most recently he has been instrumental in building the Risk and Compliance desk for a global recruitment firm in Asia. In this role he managed a portfolio of leading professional and financial services sector companies as well as numerous Fortune 500 multinationals. In other roles James has covered front office positions in corporate finance and equity derivatives.
Based in Hong Kong James has extensive market knowledge and experience of the major financial institutions in Asia. Asked about his view of the current bear market conditions James expressed cautious optimism noting that 'Asia appears to be have been spared the worst of it and there are a number of new hiring trends that have become evident'.
Born in Hong Kong, James holds a Masters degree in Chinese Politics, Economics and Law from the University of Sydney and a Bachelors (Hons) in Chinese History of Art and Archaeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London. He has also spent time at the East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai and has industry qualifications in Human Resources and Training.
