Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage the technology organization of 100+ FTE’s across HK and GZ
  • Partner with the CEO of and the leadership team to drive the overall technology strategy, execution and future technology innovation
  • Overall leadership of technology design, execution, and operation for the platform owning the product delivery lifecycle from planning through development, implementation and platform support/resiliency
  • Direct activities ensuring products are developed to schedule within quality standards and cost objectives meet market demands.
  • Strong focus to maintain/improve platform resiliency and drive continuous improvement to ensure platform meets customer and business needs
  • Drive the adoption of Dev-Sec-Ops across all engineering teams to improve engineering agility and product quality
  • Involvement with the ongoing product strategy including current UX, DevOps and Cloud development trends
  • Foster and support partnerships that may be technology or business specific to broaden the ecosystem leveraging existing or emerging fintech firms
  • Industry events and networking, conferences and public speaking, any technical PR


  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering high performance and reliable full-stack web solutions, ideally in an open source environment on the cloud
  • Proven management experience of distributed engineering teams
  • Experience in building and maintaining customer facing digital mobile and browser solutions
  • Expert level experience in back-end or full stack development on various Java based technology stacks (ideally Spring) and public cloud (ideally AWS/Azure)
  • Ability to driver delivery and a proven track record of success in challenging environments
  • Ability to change the culture of a development team
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
  • Track record of building, managing & mentoring a team of developers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fluent English
  • The candidate would be someone who has a successful delivery track record in a fast paced environment and can adapt to the challenges of delivering products within a bank
