You will be required to conduct compliance assessment and analysis to help the business units develop compliance standards and procedures and ensure consistent compliance practices are in place and rectify incidents of non-compliance.

Responsibilities:

To oversee and establish clear and effective compliance programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for business units
To perform compliance review and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of controls to address compliance risks in the organization
To monitor new and proposed legislation, regulations and guidelines that could impact the operations and ensure such changes are embedded in the internal guidelines and policies of business units
To manage the incident reporting and complaints program to ensure the prevention, detection and remediation of non-compliance of regulatory and misconduct matters
To review all publications and ensure compliance and adherence to any applicable laws and regulatory requirements
To develop compliance training materials to enhance compliance awareness and promote a culture of compliance across the business
To render support on company secretarial matters for the board and committees
To work closely with Risk Unit in implementing the risk governance, risk management framework, policies and procedures

Requirements:

Degree holder in Business, Accounting, Law or related disciplines
Professional qualified as an accountant, auditor or chartered company secretary is preferable
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in compliance with sizable life insurance companies in Hong Kong
Familiar with legal and regulatory requirements of insurance industry
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently as well as a team player
Strong command of written and spoken Chinese (MUST) and English
