Description

This role requires a financial markets lawyer who has the ability to manage stakeholders across all business functions and has a broad knowledge of customary documentation and legal and regulatory issues in Asian financial markets.

Responsibilities

Work closely with other members of the legal team and the Business.

Manage a diverse range of legal matters which affect the business across the Asia Pacific region, including reviewing and negotiating technology, licensing, trading, brokerage, prime brokerage, execution, clearing, and other commercial arrangements.

Undertake both transactional work and advice work.

Requirements

Holder of a current practising certificate in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, or the UK.

4 to 8 years’ post admission experience.

Experience in financial markets/securities/derivatives. Experience from other Financial Services practices will be considered too

Broad knowledge of corporations law, securities law and corporate governance.

Excellent negotiation skills, and strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Ability to exhibit independent judgment when evaluating projects or assignment needs.

Ability to deal confidently with senior executives and other stakeholders.

Ability to work across different legal jurisdictions and time zones.

In house sell side global markets or brokerage related legal experience would be highly regarded.

Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese, Japanese or Korean would be highly regarded.
