Aquis Search is hiring on behalf of a leading American technology firm for a high-visibility Director – Legal role based in Mumbai. This business-facing position is ideal for a seasoned legal generalist with significant exposure to the financial services sector. The role provides an opportunity to operate at the intersection of law, technology, and business strategy.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary legal advisor for the company’s BFSI-aligned technology business

Provide general corporate legal guidance, contract support, and risk mitigation strategies

Collaborate with business teams to enable strategic initiatives while managing legal exposure

Partner with the India General Counsel on regulatory, compliance, and commercial matters

Requirements

15–18 years of post-qualification legal experience

Broad general corporate law background

Significant exposure to financial services (BFSI), though not a core banking legal profile

Proven ability to work closely with business teams in a tech-driven environment

Strong leadership and communication skills
