Description
A leading global trading firm is looking for a Principal Network Engineer in Mumbai who will drive the design, engineering, and optimization of high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure supporting mission-critical trading systems. They’ll work on complex networking challenges across highly available environments, partnering with technology and trading teams to build resilient, scalable infrastructure where speed, reliability, and precision are critical.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evolve highly available, scalable, and low-latency network infrastructure.

Own complex network engineering initiatives across architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Manage and troubleshoot routing and switching across large-scale production environments.

Build and improve network automation for configuration, deployment, validation, and operations.

Diagnose complex network and performance issues and drive problems through to root-cause resolution.

Contribute to network architecture, technology strategy, monitoring, resilience, and capacity planning.

Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams on critical network solutions.

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and drive strong technical engineering practices.

Requirements
8–10 years of strong hands-on network engineering experience.

Deep expertise in routing, switching, network troubleshooting, automation, and network architecture/design.

Proven experience designing and operating reliable, scalable production networks.

Strong scripting/automation skills and an engineering-first approach to infrastructure.

Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and own projects end-to-end.

Strong communication and technical mentoring skills.

People-management or team-management experience is not required.
